| The Mediterranean Shipping Co. (MSC) was a double winner at the Maritime And Logistics Awards (MALA) 2011 held in Mumbai on September 30. It was recognised in the categories of 'Shipping Line of the Year-Container Operator' and 'Container Shipping Line of the Year-India Europe Trade Lane'. The trophies and certificates were accepted by Capt. Deepak Tewari, CEO of MSC (India). Meanwhile, MSC Agency (India) Pvt. Ltd has shifted to a new office in Chennai, at Ethiraj Salai, Egmore.Mr Vakur Germiyanoglu, Line Manager of MSC South Africa, inaugurated the new premises by lighting the traditional lamp, in the presence of Capt. Deepak Tewari, Mr Indrajit Sengupta, Senior Vice-President, MSC (India)-Mumbai, Mr Krishna Kumar, Vice-President-Southern Region, MSC (India) and other MSC officials. MSC India, a group company of Mediterranean Shipping Company S.A, the Geneva-based 2nd largest container shipping line operator in the world, has 33 offices/representatives in India and staff strength of around 469. It presently operates through Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Pipavav, New Mangalore, Mormugao, Cochin, Tuticorin, Chennai, Visakhapatnam and Kolkata Ports, thus providing comprehensive one-stop shipping solutions to its customers throughout India.
