MSC announces rationalisation of ISES & I-Med services 28/03/2012

In order to create a better product for its customers, MSC has decided to rationalise and merge its India Subcontinent-Europe (ISES) and India Subcontinent-Med (I-Med) services.

Accordingly, MSC will upgrade the capacity of the ISES service by deploying 6,500-TEU vessels and will continue to cover the Mediterranean ports cargo via Gioia Tauro.

This will give its customers much wider coverage and quicker connectivity to the Mediterranean ports.

The new rotation will be:

  • Colombo, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Salalah, Gioia Tauro, Felixstowe, Hamburg, Antwerp, Gioia Tauro, Colombo

The first sailing of the new ISES service will be with the SCI Chennai on April 7, 2012 from Colombo.

MSC has demonstrated its continued commitment to the Indian trade with this enhanced service, stressed an official release.
